Following a small garage fire next door in North Attleboro the Town of Cumberland dispatched a first alarm assignment for the house opposite 2920 Diamond Hill Rd.

A police officer reported heavy black smoke from the dwelling. Upon arrival of the first due companies, a working fire was transmitted for a vacant one and half story woodframe dwelling. This house is a turn of the century farm house which also had a fire approx one and a half years ago. The previous fire had gutted most of the house due to the older construction and the house was sold.

The new owners were in the process of rebuilding and were just about finshed when this fire struck.

It appears that most of this fire was on the second floor and behind a kneewall and there may have been fire on the first floor.

North Cumberland, Cumberland, Cumberland Hill, Valley Falls, and some Lincoln Co's. did a good job battling the blaze which seemed to have kept it in check. North Attleboro Engine 4 covered the N. Cumberland station.
